ISLAMABAD - Girls have outshone boys by securing first top five positions in all the groups in Higher Secondary School Certificate annual examination Part II results announced Thursday.
The over all pass percentage of the candidates who appeared in the examination 2009, remained 79.43 announced by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE). Out of total 35,584 candidates including regular and private 28,265 were declared pass.
In Pre-Medical, Commerce and Humanities Group, girl students bagged all top three positions. In Pre-Engineering Group, Iqra Ejaz of ACME College of Excellence, Faisalabad Road, Sargodha, secured first position with 1,030 marks. Syed Hasnain Akhtar of Fauji Foundation College For Boys, New Lalazar, Rawalpindi Cantt, got second position by securing 999 marks followed by Zeeshan Mahmood of Fazaia Inter College Munir Road, Lahore, who obtained 992 marks.
In Pre-Medical Group, the students of Army Public School & College for Girls 208 Hamayun Road, Rawalpindi, clinched all the three positions. Fatima Ayaz got first position by securing 1,017 marks followed by Aima Tariq who obtained 1,013 marks. The third position was shared by Zahabia Khalid and Amna Amer by securing 1,005 marks.
Ayesha Afzal of FG College for Women, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi, stood first in Science General Group who obtained 997 marks. Mohsin Mustafa of FG Sir Syed College, The Mall, Rawalpindi, clinched second position with 974 marks. While Wardah Naseer of FG College for Women, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi, remained third, securing 971 marks.
In Commerce Group, Hamida Shams of Islamabad Commerce College for Women, F-10/3, bagged first position by securing920 marks. Uzma Raj of Punjab Collewge of Information Technology G-6/1, Aabpara, Islamabad, secured second position with 911 marks. While Shazdah Gul got third position by securing 904 marks.
Similarly, in Humanities Group, Zahida Noreen of Pakistan Education Centre, Doha, Qatar, stood first with 892 marks. While Almas Javed of FG College for Women, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi, and Rabia Tariq of Askari College, Girl Campus, Sarwar Road, Saddar Rawalpindi, shared second position as both students secured 880 marks. And Samreen Khan of PACE Model College for Girls, Chashma, Mianwali, secured third position with 876 marks.
